COVID-19 outbreak around the globe has created havoc amongst the citizens. This is the first time in a century that the world is facing such a pandemic which is now calling out for a worldwide lockdown to prevent any damages furthermore. Till now, more than 4, 10,000 cases have been reported worldwide out of which 18,000 plus people have lost their lives due to this pandemic.

It is presumed that COVID-19 was originated in China and was further spread to Italy and then to other countries. Italy is the second most affected country after China, where China is said to be 70%-80% recovered.

WHO has suggested not to Travel to Any Country or within the country for that matter. However, if you have any kind of emergency because of which you have to travel the make sure you take the following steps. You need to take these steps for your safety and your near and dear ones as well. Implementing these steps can minimize the risk of transmission of the disease. Here are the steps -

Be aware and keep up to date with all the information you need about the country/state/city you’re departing from or traveling to during such a pandemic.

There are chances that some countries will impose restrictions without any notice. Pandemic has led to unparalleled international/state border closures and other restrictions.

You must check the impact of COVID-19 outbreak on your travel insurance coverage.

Must contact your airlines, tour operator, cruise line or any other transport and accommodation providers. You are required to be well updated with information regarding your itinerary and travel plans.

You should be prepared for enhanced screening at both the entry and exit of the ports.

Elderly people and those who have underlying problems must know that if you are infected with COVID-19 then you are at an increased risk of severe infection.

You must see your doctor once you’ve completed your travel. If required, get the necessary tests done.

If you are unwell with a high temperature or continuous cough, self-isolate yourself for 7 days (that is when you live alone) and if you have flatmates/roommates, it is safe for you to isolate yourself for 14 days and the entire household should also isolate themselves for 14 days as a precaution.

Here’s a list of advice if you become unwell while traveling or in abroad -

Must stay indoors and avoid any kind of contact with people.

It is advised to call your health provider and/or insurance company to discuss your health and your next step regarding that.

Ensure that you follow public health guidelines.

If you’re unwell at the airport/station, then you must not commence or Continue Your Journey.

Though it is already mentioned, try and minimize your travel to the least since it may invite troubles for you and those around you.

It is indeed a difficult phase in our lives, however, panic won’t provide us with a solution, patience will.

All we are required to do is stay indoors and follow instructions from the government. It may be difficult however it is the need of the hour and we have to comply, there’s no choice.

We should have faith in our government and do the needful, which, by the way, is very simple – stay at your home. This is the time you’ve got to spend time with your family, read a new book, or maybe develop a new hobby.

For this lockdown period, We have only two suggestions

Please don’t panic buy! The government will provide you with essential commodities.

Don’t circulate any random piece of information you come across on your social media. Fake news creates panic amongst citizens and thus, the wrong steps are taken.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, If it is not extremely important, postpone all your Travel plans.

Stay Home. Stay Healthy.

Whether on a business or a work-related trip, you can be sure that these activities will bring a new lease of life on your trip. Some of these activities will be more fun than others while some will be spiritual but be sure, that you will enjoy these experiences in the capital city.

Here’s a list of things to do in Delhi:

This beautiful monument was built as a tribute for the soldiers who sacrificed their lives fighting in the First World War. This monument is surrounded by other government buildings. The best view of India Gate can be seen only in night time as the street lights bow to the big monument which itself is shining in the light. In short, this is one of the best places in Delhi to get that prized selfie that will end up on social media.

2. Visit Lotus Temple

Sri Lanka- The paragon of island country of Indian Ocean where one can relive nature in its purest form. Each and every part of this country feels like expediting into a large tropical rainforest. I can say this from my experience of waking up to the chirping sound of birds to seeing elephants waking on the main roads. It will definitely make you feel like living amongst nature. Another fascinating part of this country is how cooler hill country, tea plantations and warmer beaches co-exist. One can surely get the best of both worlds in this island country.

Hence be it you visiting this country on a vacation or simply living in this country, Sri Lanka will definitely make you fall in love with this place again and again. Here, I will jot down few things that I simply love about Sri Lanka, you can see for yourself why this island is that amazing.

10 listed things that I absolutely love about Sri Lanka:

1. Geniality of Sri Lankan people:

The best thing about this island is its people, always warm and welcoming. Every stranger you encounter in the street will surely wave a hello towards you. Isn’t that simply amazing? Hence if visiting Sri Lanka for the first time, definitely opt for homestays to live with local and try local cuisine, surely they will make you feel at home.

2. Wildlife experiences:

Two things which tops the list when it comes to wildlife touring in Sri Lanka, one is the Kaudullu National Park and other is the Pinnawala elephant orphanage. From TukTuk safari to open jeep wildlife safaris, or be it breakfast with the elephants to simply being playful with them, this island has it all.

3. Culinary delights:

How can you amiss the diversified food delicacies of this island? Being colourful to palatable it can surely take you to a worthwhile ride. Local fruits to local delicacies namely Sri Lankan omelette, local noisy kothu, pineapple curry and hoppers as breakfast, this island offer it all. Alongside local indulgences of food, there is also must try the local beer namely lion beer.

4. Living in nature:

Sri Lanka being natures paradise, places like NuwaraEliya or little England or Ella-backpackers hub, holds true to its nature. Another way of experiencing nature is tree house stay experience or going for waterfall hikes. One of the place namely Back of beyond Dehigaha Ela you can exploit it both.

5. Enticing train journeys:

Another loving part of Sri Lanka is the train ride from Kandy to Ella which is one of the most scenic and enticing journeys of the world. This 5-hour journey which can be experienced in mere few bucks can be best exploited by hanging out of the train.

6. Tea estate stays:

Tea drinking is one of the important parts of Sri Lankan culture and is one of top producers of tea in the world. From taking factory tours to estate stays to tea sipping, it is worthwhile experiences.

7. Historical explorations:

History here in Sri Lanka is hidden in its ancient ruins and temples. Buddha Statues in Dambulla caves, Temple of the tooth in Kandy or the ancient cities of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa are few named places worth exploring for some history rewinding.

8. Hiking expeditions:

This island country is full of hiking expeditions which are unique in its own way. Hiking the pilgrimage Adam peak, sunset hike to pidurangalu, tea plantation climb in Lipton’s seat in Haputale are few named hikes worth a try.

9. Adventurous Syria Rock climb:

Another interesting yet adventurous thing to do here in Sri Lanka is the climbing of Syria Rock. Amidst the jungle, this climb is surely a experience for an adrenaline rush.

10. Palm tree swings:

Fascinating yet unique to Sri Lanka are the palm tree swings. The beach in Unawatuna are famous to offer such swings in mere few dollars and free of cost if staying in Dream Cabana guest house.

And yes, the list can go on as what I love about Sri Lanka as this island country has bit of everything to make you cry when you leave this destination!!
